From local roots to pro-ready: Brooklyn’s youth system is building the future of NYC football

A Brooklyn-Built Pathway to Pro

Brooklyn, NY — In a city where ambition is the air you breathe, Brooklyn FC Academy is building something that could change the way New York grows football.

Formally launched in 2024 through a partnership with Two Bridges FC, the Academy didn’t waste any time. In just over a year, it’s already positioned itself as one of the most intentional youth programs in the country, designed to give kids in Brooklyn a real chance to chase the professional game.

And this is only the beginning. With a clear pathway connecting grassroots competition to the USL Championship debut of Brooklyn FC’s men’s team in 2026, the Academy is the heartbeat of the club’s future.

No pay-to-play. No shortcuts. Just access, opportunity, and belief with performance coaching, wellness education, and weekly training as the foundation.

The Diaza Effect: Identity Meets Performance

In August 2024, Brooklyn FC signed a multi-year partnership with Diaza Football, outfitting the Academy, women’s team, and men’s senior squad with custom kits and gear.

But the deal was never just about jerseys. It was about identity.

“The Diaza partnership gives our Academy a professional feel while staying true to Brooklyn’s roots. Our players walk taller in these kits.”

Every drop has carried Brooklyn’s edge into design: bold, culture-forward, and instantly recognizable. From collaborative Instagram reveals to on-field debuts, Diaza and Brooklyn have made it clear that kits aren’t just clothing, they’re a statement.

Momentum in Motion

In little more than a year, the Academy has stacked up milestones that speak for themselves:

  • Competed in the USL Academy League and UPSL Spring 2024 via Brooklyn FC II

  • Hosted an international U20 exhibition vs. C.D. Cuenca (Ecuador) in July 2024

  • Accepted into the National Academy League for the 2025–26 season

  • Expanded to four weekly training sessions, competitive play, and holistic player wellness programming

And in December 2024, the club appointed Kevin Tenjo as Sporting Director, tasked with building both men’s and women’s pro rosters. A search for the men’s first head coach is underway with a mandate to keep the Academy pipeline front and center.

A Club with Vision. A Borough with Purpose.

The Academy’s mission is clear: remove barriers, invest in young talent, and give Brooklyn a real pathway to the professional game.

With Diaza’s support, Brooklyn FC is proving that professional soccer development can be authentic, inclusive, and unapologetically local.

From training fields to Instagram feeds, Brooklyn FC Academy is showing what’s possible when culture, ambition, and community all pull in the same direction.

Brooklyn is building the future. Diaza is making sure it looks as bold as it plays.
